How do I create a Kinetico App Account?
To create a Kinetico app account, download the Kinetico App from the App Store or Google Play Store. Tap on the Kinetico App icon on your phone, then tap create an account and enter your personal information, including your first and last name and email address. You’ll also need to create a secure password.
Enter your telephone number, and enter your home address. When typing your address, it may automatically populate the fields for you. You can edit any of the information manually if it is incorrect or needs additional information
Then tap Sign Up. A notification will tell you to check your email address to complete the registration. Tap Okay. You’ll need to access your email to access the confirmation email. Navigate to your email, open it, and tap the button in the email to confirm your account. You’ll receive confirmation saying that your account is confirmed. Now you can return to the app and log in with the credentials that you created earlier.
You can also enable Face ID to make login quicker in the future. Simply use the toggle to create a face ID and allow the app to enable the feature. Then tap Log In and that's it! Your account Kinetico App account is created! You can now add your Kinetico equipment, navigate to other parts of the app, and much more.
How do I update the Kinetico App?
To ensure you’re using the latest version of the app, go to your device’s app store to check for any updates. Here is how you can do this on your device:
iPhone
Open the App Store. At the bottom of the screen, tap on Updates. If an update is available, tap on Update.
Android
Open the Play Store Search for “Kinetico” Tap Update if one is available
Is the Kinetico App Free?
Yes! The Kinetico App is free to download for iOS and Android.
Will the Kinetico App work with my smart tablet?
Yes! The Kinetico App is designed to work with most iOS or Android tablets.
How do I add or remove my Kinetico products from my account?
First, you’ll need to log into the Kinetico App if you haven’t already.
If you haven’t added any equipment to your account yet, you'll be able to add it quickly by tapping on the Add Equipment button. If you don't see that button, you can also tap on the location icon in the bottom navigation, which will take you to the location screen. Then, tap on the location that you want to add equipment to.
Tap the add equipment (+ icon) button at the bottom of the screen. You can select which location you want to add your equipment to and then create a nickname for the equipment you’re adding.
Enter the serial number which is located on the equipment. Contact the dealer who installed your equipment if you have trouble locating the serial number. Enter the serial number twice to confirm it’s correct. Finally, you can tap the confirm button. Now your equipment is added to your app!
If you're adding a Kinetico Kinex Salt Monitor, you'll follow the prompts to connect it to Wi-Fi. You can find additional help for setting up your Kinetico Kinex Salt Monitor in a separate video. If you want to remove equipment from your account, you’ll follow similar steps as before. Tap on the location icon in the bottom navigation. Tap on the location you want to remove equipment from, then tap on the product you want to remove. Tap the gear icon in the upper right-hand side of the screen and scroll down to tap the Delete button. Tap OK.
Now your product is deleted! If you deleted any product by accident, don’t panic—simply re-add the product using the same steps as before, and you’ll be all set.
How do I configure my Kinetico Water Softener in the app?
You'll need to make sure that your softener has been added to your Kinetico account. If you haven't done that already, you can watch our separate video on how to add equipment to your Kinetico app. To start, navigate to your softener in the app by tapping on the location icon in the bottom navigation. Then, tap on the location that contains the softener you want to set up.
Tap on the product whose settings you want to configure. Your Kinetico softener features two reminder types, a salt refill reminder and a parts reminder. Default reminder dates will automatically be generated based on the recommended settings from the Kinetico, but you can also change those reminders yourself based on your own personal preference or the recommendation of your local dealer.
To change these two settings, simply tap on the one that you want to change, then tap Modify Schedule. From here, you can choose to change the next reminder date, as well as the cadence of that reminder by days, weeks, months, or years.
You can do the same for parts as well. Simply tap on the Parts edit icon, tap on Modify Schedule, and make your changes appropriately.
If you want to change the nickname of your softener, simply tap on the gear icon in the upper right part of the screen, then tap the edit icon next to the nickname field.
If you have multiple locations or properties and you want to move your equipment to another property, you can do that by tapping on the gear icon, tap the edit icon next to the location field, and then choosing the location where you are moving the product to.
That's how you make changes and set up your Kinetico softener in the Kinetico app! If you have questions or need assistance, you can always get help from your dealer by going to Get Support on the product screen, selecting the location and the product that you need help with, and your dealer's information will automatically generate.
How do I configure my Kinetico Water Filter in the app?
You’ll need to add your filtration system to your Kinetico account. If you haven't done that yet, and need to know how, you can watch our video which outlines each step to add equipment to your account.
To start, you'll need to navigate to your water filtration system in the Kinetico app by tapping the location icon in the bottom navigation, then tapping on the appropriate location. Finally, tap on the Water Filtration system you wish to set up.
Your Kinetico water filtration system features three reminder types--a filter reminder, a membrane reminder, and a parts reminder. Default reminder dates are automatically generated based on the recommended settings from Kinetico, but you can change those settings yourself based on personal preference or a recommendation from your local dealer.
To edit the reminders, simply tap on the edit icon on the reminder type you wish to edit, then tap on Modify Schedule. From this screen, you can select which date you want your reminder to be, as well as how frequently you want to be reminded by days, weeks, months, or years. You can do the same with your membrane and your parts.
If you want to change the nickname of your system, simply tap on the gear icon on the upper right area of the screen, then tap the edit icon next to the nickname. If you have multiple locations or properties and you're moving your equipment to a different location, you can do that within the app by simply tapping on the edit icon and selecting the location you wish to move the unit to and that's it! Your Kinetico Water Drinking station is now set up.
If you need support or help, you can always contact your dealer by going to the product screen and tapping Get Support. From there, you can select which location if you have multiples, and then select the appropriate product. Your dealer's contact information will automatically generate
How do I connect my Kinex Salt Monitor to the app?
Before you get started, there are a few things you'll need. First, you're going to need your salt monitor powered either by four AA batteries or a power cord. You'll also need access to a 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi network, and you'll need that network's name and password.
Note that a 5 GHz network will not work with your Kinetico Kinex Salt Monitor. If you have a dual-band Wi-Fi configuration where you have both 2.4 and 5g networks, you'll need to connect the salt monitor to the 2.4 network. You also need to make sure your phone is connected to your 2.4 gigahertz Wi-Fi network before you attempt to connect your Kinetico Kinex Salt Monitor to Wi-Fi.
You'll also need your softener model number and drum size, including the height and width. In addition, you'll need your softener’s salt dose setting. The salt dose information should be located on the paperwork your dealer left behind with you when they installed your equipment. If you don't know your salt dose, you will need to contact your local authorized Kinetico dealer and they’ll confirm the dose information for you.
Now we're ready to get started. First, we'll add the salt monitor to the app account. To do this, we'll tap on the location icon at the bottom navigation, then tap on the property we wish to add to the salt monitor. Next, tap Add Equipment (+ icon).
We'll create a nickname for the salt monitor, and then we'll need to add the salt monitor’s serial number. You'll find the serial number on a sticker located on the side of your salt monitor. You'll have to enter the serial number twice to confirm that they match. Tap Confirm. Now your salt monitor has been added to your Kinetico app account!
Now that it’s added to your account, we need to connect the salt monitor to your Wi-Fi network. To do this, we'll tap on the salt monitor icon, then we'll tap Connect to Wi-Fi. You can tap the refresh icon and the Wi-Fi network you're already connected to on your device should pre-populate in the network name field. If it doesn't, you may have to type it in manually. Next, type in the Wi-Fi network password, then tap Connect.
Now you need to prepare the salt monitor to connect to your WiFi network. First, you'll press and hold the reset button located on the side of the salt monitor until the LED light turns purple. It may flash through several colors, but keep holding the button until the light turns purple. Once the LED light turns purple, release the button. The LED light will change to red, but we need to wait for the LED light to blink purple. This may take a few seconds.
Once the LED light is blinking purple, you can now tap Connect in your app. If you are an iPhone user, you may be prompted with a captive network screen that pops up during this process. If it does, simply tap cancel and then tap Use Without Network. Next, your phone will ask you to connect to the salt monitor. To connect, tap Join.
The salt monitor will now be connected to your Wi-Fi. This can take up to one minute or more. You'll receive a connection success message once your salt monitor has successfully connected to your Wi-Fi network.
Tap, OK, and now we'll need to continue the salt monitor configuration process. To do this, tap Continue Setup. The app will ask you whether you're connecting your salt monitor to a Kinetico softener or a non-Kinetico softener. In this case, we're connecting it to a Kinetico softener.
Scroll through the list of Kinetico softener models until you find your model number listed.
Then, you need to select what size brine drum is connected to your Kinetico water softener. Tap on the appropriate size.
You'll be asked to enter in the salt dose for your unit. This may have been provided to you with the paperwork left behind by your Kinetico dealer when your softener was installed. If you don't know or can't find your salt dose, simply contact your authorized local Kinetico dealer, and they'll be able to tell you your salt dose over the phone.
Now we need to we need to select if the salt monitor will be installed indoors or outdoors. Then select the type of power. In this case, we're selecting battery. The app will ask you which type of battery you've installed. If you're installing one time use batteries, they'll typically be alkaline. If you're using rechargeable batteries, they're typically lithium.
Now we've got a summary to confirm that all the information is correct, and we'll tap Save.
That's it. The salt monitor has now been configured and is connected to Wi-Fi! You can press the button on the side of the salt monitor once to take a current reading once the Salt Monitor is properly installed onto your brine drum lid.
How do I add or remove locations in my account?
Tap on the location icon in the bottom navigation.
You’ll notice that a default location has been created based on the information you provided when first creating your account. If you need to add another property, such as a vacation house or a rental property, you can do so by tapping the plus icon at the top of the location screen.
Select the property type, such as a house, a multiple-family home, or an apartment. Then, type in the nickname of the property,
After that, enter the address. The street address may pre-populate, but if there's any information that's missing or incorrect, you can always add it yourself.
Finally, tap Confirm and that's it! Your new location is automatically added to your account.
If you want to delete a location, simply tap on the location you wish to delete, then tap the gear icon in the top right part of the screen and tap Delete. A confirmation message will appear.
Note that if you still have products added to the location, you'll need to either move those products to another location or delete the products first, since you cannot delete a location that has products still added.
How do I share equipment in my app with someone else?
In this video, we'll show you how to share Kinetico products with friends or family in their Kinetico app. Before you get started, you're going to need their name and email address to share your products.
Tap on the menu icon in the bottom navigation, then tap on My Shared Items. Next, tap on the plus icon in the bottom right part of the screen,
You'll enter their first and last name and their email address.
Then you can select which level of access you wish to provide. There are two options, Read Only, which will allow the shared user to view things like notifications and equipment status, or you can make them a Co-Owner, which is great for a spouse, family member or property manager who will need to be able to change the settings of the products and things like reminders. Select the permission you wish to provide. Then, use the toggle buttons to select which product you wish to share. Next, tap Save.
The shared user will receive an email asking them to accept the sharing invitation. If the individual you shared product with does not yet have a Kinetico App account, they'll be prompted to download the app and create an account to accept the share.
When the shared user logs into their account, they'll see the invitation at the top of their dashboard, and they can either accept or decline the invitation.
Once they accept, they’ll be able to view the item shared with them by tapping on the menu icon in the bottom navigation and then tapping on Shared With Me. They can then tap on the individual's name that shared equipment with them to see the equipment status.
They can also see the shared equipment by navigating to the Locations screen, by tapping on the locations icon in the bottom navigation and toggling to Shared Locations. Here, it shows the shared location as well as the product that's been shared.
How do I manage users I’ve shared equipment with?
Navigate to the menu by tapping on the hamburger menu icon at the bottom navigation, Next tap on My Shared Items. From this screen, you'll be able to see all users that you've shared product with.
To manage a shared user, tap on their name, and then you can toggle which products you wish to enable or disable sharing permissions.
If you wish to manage product that has been shared with you, you can do that by tapping on the hamburger icon then tapping on Shared To Me. Tap on the name of the user who shared the product with you, and then you can toggle off those shared settings there using the toggle button.
Then tap Save, and a message will pop up asking you to confirm that you wish to delete this shared product. Once you do, you will not have access to that product that's been shared with you. If you need to regain access, you'll have to ask the user to share the item with you again.
Tap Continue, and now the shared product has been removed.
How do I manage my Kinetico App account?
Within your Kinetico app, you can find all of your account settings under the menu icon at the bottom navigation by tapping on the hamburger icon.
From here, you can choose from several different account settings, including your profile, which allows you to change your name and address, a telephone number, your email, password, and contact options--which allows you to change the notifications that you receive from the product reminders.
If you wish to delete your Kinetico account, tap on the menu icon at the bottom navigation of your screen, then under Account Settings, tap on Profile. Under your profile information, tap on the Delete button.
Your device's email client will automatically pop up and write a pre-populated email to Kinetico’s Connected Product Support. Simply tap Send, and the account will be deleted by our customer service team.
How do I find my dealer’s information in the app?
All you need to do is tap on the location icon in the bottom navigation, then tap on the location that contains the product you need help with. Next, tap on the product in question.
Then, tap on Get Support at the bottom of the product screen. Confirm that you have the right location and the right product, and your dealer information will automatically appear at the bottom of the my dealer screen. You can tap the website button to automatically go to the dealer's website, or you can tap to call the dealer directly.
You can also find contact information for your dealer in the my dealer section of the help center. The help center is accessed by tapping on the info icon in the bottom navigation.
Tap on My Dealer, select the location that you need help with and finally select the product and your authorized independent Kinetico dealer information will populate.
Your dealer can help with most questions, but if you need to contact Kinetico national customer support, navigate back to the help center and tap on Contact Support. You can contact Kinetico national customer support by either tapping on Send An Email or you can simply tap to call.

Uninstall and reinstall the app
Try removing and re-installing your Kinetico App. Follow the steps below for your specific device:
iPhone
Tap and Hold the Kinetico app on your home screen until it begins to wiggle. Tap on the “x” on the corner of the icon. Tap “Delete” to uninstall the app. Once deleted, search for the Kinetico App in the App Store and download the app again.
Android
